Remembering Dutch

K-9 Down

....As many of you may know, the city of Hastings and surrounding commmunities lost a vital member on October 12th, 2005. Deputy John Krontz said good-bye to his partner Dutch. Dutch was 13 years old and was a dual purpose canine, and had many accomplishments to his record. He will be missed greatly. The Nebraska Police Canine Association would like to establish a memorial fund for Dutch which would then be used to purchase a monument for all canine officers in the state of Nebraska. It is a wonderful cause, and a way to say thank-you for all their hard work that goes unrecognized. The canines and their handlers are indeed the true unsung heroes. There are shirts, hats, books and braceltes for sale that will also help to attain this goal.

"He is your friend, your partner,
your defender, your dog.
Your are his life, his love, his leader,
He will be yours, faithful and true
to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him
to be worthy of such devotion."
